Cat haters will say that cats are unaffectionate creatures. They will sat that cats are aloof and that cats only tolerate you because you bring them food. But those people are cat haters for a reason - they don't understand cats. They don't understand that cats love their humans endlessly. It's just that sometimes, cats show love in funny ways. It's not their fault that some people don't understand. It's our fault for not paying enough attention to see those silly expressions of love.

Yes, sometimes cats will show us they love us in the more obvious ways - by slowly blinking at us, by cuddling with us, but turning around and shoving their booties in out faces. But other times… other times, you have to pay attention. And if you wake up in the middle of the night with your cat sitting on top of you and eating a slice of pizza directly off your chest, then you have to see it for the hissterical expression of love that it actually is.

We very much hope that this tweet was written with a pawsitive tone, because you have to understand - this is one of the biggest compliments that you can get from a cat. Usually, they hide their food from everyone around. They don't like when you come anywhere near it, so for the cat to bring it to you… enjoy the honor, even if it means waking up smelling like pizza.

Sigh, people clearly don't understand. Yes, the cat may be practicing for this, but the cat is also showing love. It's obvious, and really, you should be hoping to receive pizzas from your cat, because the other options are a whole lot less pleasant.
